I would like to know if there is a easy manner to put a lot of nested items at the same level as children of some node (like the following).

This video explains how to do it.

You can try this:

1. select the elements that you want to re-organize in the contents window
2. choose View : Selection (in Contents)
3. choose Move : To branch (in the browser)
4. choose the root node in contents as the target of the element transfer
