Enhancement of the clipboard

Common Situation

Information collected via IR etc can be quickly converted to learning material via the extract and cloze tools, however, as per the “20 rules of formulating knowledge” there is often a need to manipulate that data further (reordering and trimming down text) to refine the learning elements for everyday use. To aid in this manipulation of data I would like the SM team to consider the following functional improvement.

Enhancement

Consider either:

  • 1. Facilitate drag and drop of text within and/or between components
  • 2. Facilitate a cumulative copy before paste operation. (This isn't a novel idea rather an inspiration from the "spike" facility that exists within MS Word which allows the user to add component text strings to a buffer in the clipboard sequentially via the "CTRL+F3" shortcut). Ideally, this should be achieved via as few keystrokes as possible and unlike the MS version; I see no need for a separate command to paste the contents of the buffer back to the element. So, for example, one might use a function key (I think F10 is unused) to copy the contents of the current cursor selection to a buffer sequentially and then “Ctrl+V” to paste the composed sequence of text strings back to the element.
